Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of crhsa.com (the "Site"), operated by California Rural Health Student Advocates ("CRHSA," "we," "us"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Who we are

CRHSA is a student-led advocacy organization of emerging and training health professionals working to advance healthcare equity for rural and underserved communities across California. The Site exists to share information about our advocacy, active legislation, and ways to get involved.

3. Not medical advice

Content on the Site is for general informational and advocacy purposes only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it does not create a provider-patient relationship. Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions about a medical condition. If you have a medical emergency, call 911.

4. Not legal or policy advice

Summaries of legislation, positions, and policy analysis on the Site reflect our understanding and viewpoints at the time of publication. Bills change quickly; consult official legislative sources for authoritative bill text and status.

5. Permitted use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable law
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers, or its security features
  • Attempt to collect personal information about other users
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with CRHSA
  • Use automated means to scrape or harvest Site content at scale without our permission

6. Intellectual property

The Site and its original content, including our name, logo, text, and graphics, are owned by CRHSA or used with permission and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share our public advocacy materials for non-commercial purposes with attribution. Any other use requires our prior written consent.

7. Submissions

Information you send us through forms or email must be accurate and yours to share. By submitting ideas or feedback about our advocacy, you grant CRHSA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use them in our work. We handle personal information according to our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party content and links

The Site links to third-party websites, including news outlets and government resources. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Links do not imply endorsement.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CRHSA and its officers, members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CRHSA from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
